I see one big problem with Ping: it is based on the Apple ID. Currently, my family shares one Apple ID and iTunes account. This makes the Home Sharing functionality in iTunes actually work. Ping is much more personal. It makes music recommendations based on your listening.…

Just sent a request to Apple’s recycling program to take away my 1998 Yosemite G3 tower. It still runs fine. I installed Mac OS X Server 1.2 on it. Its just so old and slow.

Dr. Michael Johnson is a great presenter. I love his style and anecdotes. I’ve seen him present at 4 or 5 WWDCs over the years. Unfortunately these sessions are protected under NDA and are not available for re-broadcast anywhere. Each year Apple hosts a little corporate private party for the end of WWDC. It used to be back on the Apple Campus but for the last few years it has been held at the Yerba Buena Gardens. I’ve taken some pictures each year.…
