Complete My Movie Purchases

The Apple (formerly iTunes) Store has a nice feature where certain titles are bundled together at a significant savings. For example you have a choice of either buying one of the Robocop movies for $14.99 or you can get all three for $14.99. Seems like a easy choice, if its a movie or collection that you would watch. But wait, I already own one of the movies in the bundle. If I buy the bundle I will forever more be reminded of my poor planning as I scroll through the Rs. It’s true. I bought Robocop on February 9, 2014. Apple has a perfect record of the purchase. I can see that I spend $10.99 for the Peter Weller masterpiece.

On the music side, Apple has a “complete my album” feature that gives you credit for past purchases, reduces the price of the full album, and does not add the same song to your music library twice. It would be nice if Apple offered a similar feature for its movie bundles. I mean Robocop 2 was pretty good but I don’t see spending money on Robocop 3 except to satisfy the need to complete the set. So I would see paying $10 for the remaining two movies in the set for example. Come on. They are not even 4K.

I call on Apple to create a complete my movie set or a build your own bundle feature to help those of us with this affliction.
