I broke down and ordered the Mavic Air 2 Fly More Combo. It satisfies the deficiencies of the Mavic Mini and costs half what the Mavic 2 Pro would cost. My two key needs, 4k video and Occusync, cannot be satisfied by the Mini. I’ll have to use my phone instead of my iPad when controlling it — I really like using my iPad. I have been reading about options that may resolve that. It’s also new on the market so I’ll have to wait a month for filters to come out. And, I’m already used to the DJI Fly app.
There’s no telling when the Mavic 3 is going to drop or what features it might have. I plan to keep the Mavic Mini for travel, especially international travel. It was great in Scotland when I had a chance to throw it up in the air. When the Mavic 3 comes out, I’ll have to decide if it’s worth the upgrade.
