TripIt Pro Just Saved Me Some Money

I’ve been using the free version of TripIt.com since 2008 to organize my travel—both personal and work-related. It seamlessly syncs my work trips while keeping personal plans private. Thanks to my employer, I now have access to TripIt Pro, which includes a handy Fare Tracker feature.

Fare Tracker alerts you if a lower price becomes available for a ticket you’ve already purchased. In my case, I booked flights for six people as Christmas gifts, and today, TripIt notified me that the fare had dropped by $43 per ticket. That’s a total of $258 in savings—definitely worth a phone call!

I contacted the airline and they promptly issued six $43 travel vouchers for the price difference. If you frequently book flights, TripIt Pro might be worth considering. It usually costs $49 per year, but until now, I hadn’t considered paying for it myself. Based on this experience, I can see the value!

If you haven’t checked out TripIt or TripIt Pro, it may be worth a look.
