I recently saw Stephanie Hsu on a talk show talking about her new series on Peacock called Laid. It is wonderfully dark comedy remake of an Australian series of the same name. The show is like the Final Destination remix with Friends. A lot of characters die in horrific ways.
Season 1 is just 8 episodes that are about a half hour long. You have to tolerate the Peacock commercials but it’s worth it.
The Australian version ran for two seasons in 2011. I’d love to see more of these characters. Costarring Zosia Mamet and Michael Angarano with guest stars like Simu Liu and David Denman, make for a strong cast.
