Ⅴisited the SEA Aero Design competition at Thunderbird Field and took a few pictures. These teams came in from universities around the North America from Berkeley to Puerto Rico, as well as Spain and Poland representing Europe. Teams had to build their own aircraft and demonstrate the flight performance. There were several categories.
In one categories the plane had to acquire a target from the air and release an autonomous drone to land on that target. In another category, the plane had to take off from a banquet table. In yet another category, teams got points for delivering sandwiches and pizzas.
