This is a follow-up from a previous post. I really do not understand what is going on here. I thought I had it figured out as a scam with no hope of ever receiving the product or getting the money back. …And then both happened.
The credit card charge was refunded after a complaint via the web site form. When the form was submitted, the response was nearly instantaneous and very canned. But a few days later the credit came through on the credit card statement. It was the wrong amount but close enough. And so we thought the ordeal was over.
Then the tracking number came to life saying that the package was on the move again. There’d been no tracking activity in the last month when the package went from LA to the town next over. I assumed is was a purchase tracking number. Over the following week the package did a small tour within a 50 mile radius eventually returning to the same location. And then the next day, I got an out-for-delivery notification. To my utter astonishment, the package showed up. The label appeared clear. The contents where the products ordered… over 3 months ago.
I still think it is a scam. I just cannot figure out what the scam is. The products are clearly counterfeit. I emailed the real vendor in Japan and they had a blog posting on their web site warning people. The web site is still running. I guess there’s enough revenue that they can actually deliver the products?
