I finally too up an offer from my high school buddy to visit the Dallas Arboretum. Jeff is a volunteer docent and was able to give me free admission and a tour. The weather was cool and clear so I met him up there when the park opened yesterday morning. I did not know anything about the park aside from a general sense of its location. By the name I was able to guess that they had trees and I have heard Jeff talk about the flowers blooming in the spring. I brought my camera hoping there would be an opportunity to get a shot or two. Their current exhibit was the 12 Days of Christmas with a gazebo decorated for each line in the song along a numbered pathway. At the center of the park is the DeGoyer house which features a private nativity scene collection with pieces from all over the world. I managed to get a couple of robin shots and a squirrel stopped to pose. I also took several shots of a waterfall and of the bare crape myrtles. If you have not been there I recommend it. I will plan for a return visit in the spring when the flowers start to bloom.
