Well my show season came to a close this past week end in Twin Falls, Idaho at the zones horse show. I had qualified for the regional show by getting 35+ points from shows throughout the school year (1st place is 7 points, 2nd place is 5, and so on). My school hosted regionals two weeks ago, and I got 2nd place in the novice hunt seat equitation class (english riding). To qualify for zones we need to get a first or second place. So, I showed yesterday morning at zones against the schools in our region (Montana State, College of Southern Idaho, etc) as well as schools from throughout zone 8, which includes California, Washington, Oregon, etc. Despite a really good ride I only placed fifth out of seven people, so I won’t be going on to nationals. But, there’s always next year!
I included a picture of me at regionals with my big fancy ribbon. My zones ribbon is even fancier, so I guess that makes it all worth while. 🙂
