Horse Show Ribbon

Well my show season came to a close this past week end in Twin Falls, Idaho at the zones horse show. I had qualified for the regional show by getting 35+ points from shows throughout the school year (1st place is 7 points, 2nd place is 5, and so on). My school hosted regionals two weeks ago, and I got 2nd place in the novice hunt seat equitation class (english riding). To qualify for zones we need to get a first or second place. So, I showed yesterday morning at zones against the schools in our region (Montana State, College of Southern Idaho, etc) as well as schools from throughout zone 8, which includes California, Washington, Oregon, etc. Despite a really good ride I only placed fifth out of seven people, so I won’t be going on to nationals. But, there’s always next year!
I included a picture of me at regionals with my big fancy ribbon. My zones ribbon is even fancier, so I guess that makes it all worth while. ๐Ÿ™‚

Horse Shows

Well I got back from my last horse show of the season. We had three western shows in Dillon Montana and I won a third place and two firsts. Now I’m qualified for the regional show which is a kind of preliminary for the national show. It’s time to work on my western riding a bit, which won’t make my very english thoroughbred very happy… but maybe I can borrow someone’s quarter horse for practice. I also took some pictures at this show and our english show the previous week. They’re on my mom’s webshots page.

Horse Show Pictures

I put up some new pictures from my regional show which took place today. I placed fourth in my class of eight, which unfortunatly was not high enough to proceed on to the zones and then national show. I will be going to zones with the team (as opposed to individually) so if anyone wants to watch, we will be in Ridgefield, Washington. I guess its near Portland and Vancouver. Enjoy the pictures!
